The story behind Scribe Journals
Our Story
Scribe Journals was created while travelling through South America and struggling to find a travel journal that actually worked for a multi-country trip.
Like many travellers, we were journalling daily - but generic travel journals felt restrictive. They weren’t designed for long journeys across multiple countries, languages, and cultures. Planning space was limited, the structure was rigid, and much of the content felt irrelevant once you moved beyond a single destination.
The idea for Scribe Journals first clicked while staying in a youth hostel in Cusco. We realised that instead of helping us document the journey, most travel journals were forcing every trip into the same template.
That was the moment we decided to create something better.
Why Region-Specific Travel Journals
Travelling through a region is fundamentally different from travelling to one place.
South America, for example, often involves extended trips across several countries, different languages, distinct food cultures, long-distance travel, and varied styles of exploration - all within a single journey. A generic travel journal doesn’t reflect that reality.
Scribe Journals are region-specific travel journals, designed around how people actually travel in a particular part of the world. From language and food to planning and reflection, each journal is structured to suit the region it’s made for - not a one-size-fits-all approach.
This makes journalling more intuitive, more useful, and far more personal.

Who Are We?
Scribe Journals was founded as a side project by Matt and Steve, two London-based professionals who love to travel.
We started Scribe as a small, independent business to create the travel journals we wished existed - beginning with a South America travel journal, and expanding into other regions over time.
